গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ সরকারের গৃহীত উদ্যোগের অংশ হিসেবে “গ্রিন ও ক্লিন বাংলাদেশ” গড়ার লক্ষ্যে এসডিএস একটি বৃক্ষ রোপণ কর্মসূচির আয়োজন করে। এ আয়োজনের উদ্বোধন করেন জনাব তাহসিনা বেগম, জেলা প্রশাসক ও বিজ্ঞ ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট, শরীয়তপুর। তিনি একটি নিম গাছের চারা রোপণ করেন।
উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে আরও উপস্থিত ছিলেন জনাব মোঃ আবু রাসেল, অতিরিক্ত জেলা প্রশাসক (সার্বিক), শরীয়তপুর, জনাব রাবেয়া বেগম, নির্বাহী পরিচালক, এসডিএস, জনাব মোঃ মজিবুর রহমান, প্রতিষ্ঠাতা, এসডিএস, জনাব কাজী মোঃ সাফওয়াত হোসেন, উপ-পরিচালক, প্রোগ্রাম, এসডিএসসহ অন্যান্য ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্মকর্তাবৃন্দ।
এসডিএস এ বছর শরীয়তপুরে জেলাব্যাপী ১০,০০০ (দশ হাজার) বিভিন্ন জাতের ফলদ, বনজ এবং ভেষজ গাছের চারা রোপণের উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ করেছে। ইতোমধ্যে ৩,০০০টি চারাগাছ রোপণ সম্পন্ন হয়েছে। বিভিন্ন জাতের রোপিত চারা গাছের মধ্যে ছিল আম, জাম, কাঁঠাল, আমড়া, মেহগনি, চম্বুল, রেইন ট্রি, কৃষ্ণচূড়া, নিম, আমলকি ও অর্জুন।
এসডিএস আগামী ০৫ (পাঁচ) বছরে সর্বমোট ৫০,০০০ (পঞ্চাশ হাজার) চারা গাছ রোপণের লক্ষ্যমাত্রা ধার্য করেছে। এসডিএস-এর বিভিন্ন প্রকল্পের আওতায় রাস্তার ধারে, বাড়িতে, শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানে এবং প্রত্যন্ত চরাঞ্চলে সবুজায়নের মাধ্যমে নিরাপদ পরিবেশ নিশ্চিত করার লক্ষ্যে এলাকাবাসীকে সাথে নিয়ে এই কার্যক্রম চলমান থাকবে।
As part of the initiatives undertaken by the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to build a “Green and Clean Bangladesh,” SDS organized a tree plantation programme. The programme was inaugurated by Ms. Tahsina Begum, Deputy Commissioner and Executive Magistrate, Shariatpur, who planted a neem sapling.
The inaugural ceremony was also attended by Mr. Md. Abu Russel, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Shariatpur; Ms. Rabeya Begum, Executive Director, SDS; Mr. Md. Mojibur Rahman, Founder, SDS; Mr. Kazi Md. Safwat Hossain, Deputy Director, Programme, SDS; and other senior officials.
This year, SDS has undertaken an initiative to plant 10,000 (ten thousand) fruit-bearing, timber and medicinal saplings across Shariatpur District. To date, 3,000 saplings have already been planted. The varieties planted include mango, black plum (jam), jackfruit, hog plum (amra), mahogany, rain tree, krishnachura, neem, Indian gooseberry (amloki), and arjun, among others.
SDS has set a target of planting a total of 50,000 (fifty thousand) saplings over the next five years. Under various SDS projects, the programme will continue with the active participation of local communities to ensure a safer and healthier environment through greening initiatives along roadsides, residential areas, educational institutions, and remote char areas.
