Australia is partnering with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) to host the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR) at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from 19-22 September 2022.

With the Asia-Pacific experiencing a growth in the frequency and intensity of disasters, investment in reducing our risk to disasters is vital to saving lives and livelihoods, minimising economic loss and ensuring no one is left behind.

The 2022 Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction presents an opportunity for delegates from across the Asia Pacific to showcase and share experiences, action and innovation to help build a resilient future for the region.

The conference also represents a final opportunity ahead of the Mid-Term Review of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (2015-2030) in 2023, to focus on Sendai Framework progress and commitments in the Asia-Pacific Region.

At the invitation of the organizers, SDS has represented by Mr. Mojibur Rahman (Founder & Advisor, SDS), Mrs. Rabeya Begum (Executive Director, SDS). SDS participated in all the events of the 04-day Conference.

Dr. Kazi Khaliquzzaman, Chairman of PKSF was a Chief guest and Major General Jibon Kanai Das, Country Director, Sir William Beverage Foundation was presided the meeting. As a special guest Tasmima Hossain, Editor, Daily Ittefaq, Dr Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Daffodil group and Rabeya Begum, ED SDS were present there.

This year, the 26th Conference of Parties (COP26) in Glasgow, Scotland presents an important opportunity for delegates. At the invitation of the organizers, SDS was represented by Mr. Mojibur Rahman (Founder & Advisor, SDS), Mr. Rabeya Begum (Executive Director, SDS), Mr. BM Kamroul Hassan (Director, MF, SDS). SDS participated in all the events of the 13-day Conference and highlighted the activities of SDS in a side event.
